We participate in Rocket Fuel, a program designed to provide weekend food bags to children in need.
We are currently providing weekend food bags to Roberts Elementary School and snacks to Dallas Elementary
We partner with Church of the Common Ground in Atlanta by providing our time several Sundays a year, as well as our love-filled, brown-bag lunches and supplies (such as sugar and socks) as needed.
Each week during the school year, volunteers prepare food bags to supplement children the counselor identifies as food insecure. The numbers of food bags required varies from week to week depending on the needs of the families we are serving. Volunteers are needed to purchase groceries which the church funds through our budget. That volunteer will stock the the St. Teresa's pantry with the food items for the packers. Volunteers are also needed to pack the bags to be ready for delivery each Thursday. Currently, we are only serving Robert's Elementary with this outreach but if we have enough volunteers and funding, we could consider growing to provide for other schools.
To Volunteer, please contact St. Teresa's Front Office.

We have a vibrant pastoral care team that brings communion to our homebound members, provides meals for those suffering from an illness or grief, and who knit prayer shawls that provide comfort and love. But the most important thing we do, is we pray for all of those in need.
We open our space to the local AA chapter on Tuesday nights at 7:00.
Our members give their time - by serving on our Altar Guild, working on our Buildings and Grounds committee, or tending our community garden.

In 2011, a member of St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church in Acworth, Georgia, suffered a heart attack while swimming at our local YMCA. Thanks to the quick reaction and training of the lifeguard on duty, he was saved. He and his wife, with other members of St. Teresa’s knew God’s divine hand was in this and wanted to find a way to give back. They came up with the idea of the “Live Nativity Celebration – A Gift to the Community.” Members of this new committee volunteered to write the script, figure out the music, make the many costumes, find a way to raise money for the event, and bake cookies to give out.
The Live Nativity Celebration has been celebrated over 10 years now. A few things have changed over the years but essentially it is still St. Teresa’s Gift to the Community and our way of celebrating the birth of Christ. So many families come every year because it is such an important part of their Christmas tradition. This is a great volunteer opportunity for giving back and have fellowship with our community.

The BBQ is our bi-annual fundraiser for the Live Nativity Celebration and other events. We pull out the smokers and cook, shred, package, and sell BBQ Pork to our local community. This is a great event for volunteers to support the ministries of St. Teresa’s. It also a great event for fellowship. Come Join the Fun!
